Don't really know what the meaning of "Gas Tank" is to the song... maybe because he's going to blow up. But I love the melodic shit talk lyrics. One of my all time favorite lines (next to "WHATCHU KNOW ABOUT THAT?!), "I got you pegged like a wooden leg." Wonderful.

I decided to go to Slovakia, pretty much by random. My friend from the hostel, Freddy accompanied me... and pretty much did all the research and what not. Thanks Freddy! It was a 12 day trip which took us to 5 different cities/towns and to a park. Slovakia has some extremely beautiful nature.

A 9 hour bus ride from Prague, this is where the trip started. Well, not in the church, but it was the main sight to see. Stayed in a great hostel (the only one in town), and it made for a good base to see the other places near by. Sorry, this is the only photo of the place.

Spišský Hrad

Like here!!! One world's largest castel ruins. Unreal. It is dated around the 11th and 12th century. It was, so to say, fucking crazy. Because it was low season for tourists, the castle itself was not open, so all my photos are from the outside. But 41 426 square metres made for a good hike.

Slovenský Raj

Slovenský Raj = Slovensky Paradise

Freddy and I did a 6 hour hike through one of Slovakia's national parks. My body was not ready for that type of punishment. If it wasn't so beautiful, I might have died. To navigate through everything, there were a series of mini wood bridges, ladders and cliff side platforms. A lot of fun with a couple sketchy parts. The park was closed during the season, so there was no one else on the trail. Unfortunately because it's winter, the waterfalls and rivers weren't at their best.

Tatra Mountains

The border of Poland and Slovakia stand the Tatra Mountain. A couple good friends we met in Levoča drove us to the mountains and we did a, in total 5 hour hike. That was a reminder of how much I need exercise...

Banská Štiavnica

A UNESCO Heritage town, just like Krumlov, it has it's own unique qualities. It was a very rich town due to mining of rich metals. The town is still in it's early stages of restoration, but in a magazine I looked through, you can see a lot of change. The main features of the town would be that it has 2 castles. I didn't take any photos of the castles because they weren't too spectacular. In the distance shot, you can try to find them. There was also a church on top of a hill that we went to. Can you tell which photos were from the church?

Bratislava

By this time, I had very few photos left on my camera. So all I really shot were the castle and one other beautiful building. Bratislava itself... I have to admit was nothing to rave about. What I did like, was the artifact muzeum in the castle (sorry, no photos) which displayed some old old stuff. And once again, it was just a pure shock to realize the things they were able to create way way way back when. Old town was beautiful as well, but beyond the old town was a dull city. I had fun though. Got drunk for the few nights we were there. I like...

Merry Christmas 25.12.06

And now the 25th. The day I am use to celebrating. But here was a bit different. We ended up going to a hardcore metal show in Smoke Hill. Got very drunk and didn't get to bed until sunrise. Not too many pictures from the night, I was kinda pre-occuppied.

This day is the Czech Christmas or... Vánoce. Being the first Christmas ever not with family. ORi was so kind as to invite me to his parent's home in a small town about 15 minutes away nicknamed "Smoke Hill." We drank (surprise), put up and decorated the tree, ate, and exchanged presents.

The next step from the family dinner was the party... oh my goodness. Who would've thought Christmas could be celebrated like this? I'm sure didn't. I'm not going into detail on what happened or who everyone is because I put everyone's names on the photos on which they appear, and to be honest, I don't really remember the whole night.

Den Sv. Mikuláše

On the fifth of December, it is St. Nicholas day, or Den Sv. Mikuláše. On this day, the devils come out and run around the streets marking the kids who have been bad, with soote. For the ones whom are good, an angel rewards them with gifts. Unfortunately my photos of the angels, devils and childeren didn't turn out too well, but this is what the evening looked like...

A Glimpse of Krumlov Life...

This looks familiar but for some reason I don't really remember... I think I was teaching someone how to work my camera... or was I asking for a shot?... Probably teaching.

This here is Salli. So very wonderful she is. Kind, funny and tough like a rock. Here we were getting "prepared" to do some season decorating.

The winter here has been abnormally nice, just like most everywhere in the world I fear. But instead of fearing the obvious warming of the globe, we pulled out the ping pong table. ORi in the back vs. Salli.

Our hostel held a fotbal/foosball tournement a few weeks ago. The blurry figure is ORi, my teammate. We were Pulinas United (Pussies United). Unfortunately we didn't do too well, so we just drank...

Originally Xander and I were planning on staying in Prague for a couple nights. Surprise!!! We decided to head to Krumlov after just one... a good choice we both believed.

After 6 hours in Calgary airport, and an added 4 in Frankfurt. I was finally able to make the final connection to my destination. In total, 28 hours of airport hopping. I wanted to cry, but it seemed that something took care of that for me.

My first stop in The Netherlands. Back with my good friend Xander. One of the kindest bodies I have ever met. He picked me up from Schipol airport, housed me and showed me a local view of his country.

This is Xander's father and his puppy, Jerommeke...

Original plan was to party Friday when I arrived, leave Saturday morning. Friday turned out to be a drinking binge. Saturday, in reflection to Friday ended up being a recovery day. So we left Sunday mid-day...

11 hour road trip. First stop Praha/Prague.

Hey peeps and freaks.
Finally I have somewhat settled down to write a little sumpthin here...
I arrived to Europa safe and sound about a week ago and it is so nice to be back. I feel very fortunate that I am experiencing this, even if it is round 2.
But the real reason behind this post is to express publicly some deep thoughts I have today.
I just read about Typhoon Durian that hit the Philippines. My parents are there and I am, how would you say... freakin out! I am not sure if it effected the area that they are in, but I am anxiuosly waiting for a reply from them. But not only that, I would like to send my dearest thoughts over there and send the good vibes to the people.
And on the other note...
I just spoke with my cousin and he has given me some terrific news that he (k.Rodel) and his lady (Erin) are GETTING MARRIED!!!! Let the family continue to grow, party hard, live strong!!!! So happy for you two. Spread the word and love.
Okay, that is about all I have to say today.

So I have decided to move into this blogger world...
As much as I am against anything that keeps me at the computer, it seems inevitable.
I am doing it more so to keep in touch with my family and friends (hahah... okay okay... and for myself) as I am soon to be away from them for a prolonged amount of time. This will share with people some of my experiences, and to ensure that I still live.
I am also hoping that this will keep my computer skills (chicks dig computer skills) in tact and also keep me in the design loop.
